This month’s meetup details and RSVP link are live on Eventbrite. The second Tuesday of the month falls early this month, so we’ll be meeting up on April 8th at Swift in NW Portland.
So far the RSVP response has been a bit slower than previous months. Perhaps that’s because we’re talking documentation? I know it might sound a bit dry, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you learn from this one. We can cover who does the documenting, strategies for creating deliverables that meet client needs, what sort of templates people find most useful, and how to keep things updated.
But you know what will really make this one great? Examples! If you are able to print and bring some copies of shareable/redacted document template examples that your organization wants to “open source”, we’ll compare and walk through them. Examples of some useful documents to share might include:
- Statements of Work
- Creative Briefs
- Design Specifications
- Project Plans
- Technical Specifications
- User Stories
- Client Training Documents
- QA Test Plans
- Deployment and Maintenance Documentation
At the meetup, I’ll collect any shareable copies and who they came from, and I’ll work to put together a follow-up blog post or two outlining some details shared and any documents that attendees are interested in sharing with the world at large.
RSVP today if you’ll make it, and I’ll see you there!
